Three feature of this landscape were named by Governor Macquarie on his triumphal trip to the Bathurst Plains along Cox’s Road: Pitts Amphitheatre (April 28th), Prince Regents Glen and the The Kings Tableland (on the April 27th near the 2nd Depot). Macquarie also named Jamison Valley on the 16th May on his return trip from Bathurst, nine days after Bathurst’s proclamation.
