Location: Approximately 16km north west of Bathurst via the Ophir Road, and then right 1km via Pine Ridge
Road. Note that Pine Ridge is on private land and can only be viewed from the roadside.

Relevance to Cox’s Road: Evans explored this site in 1813 and Macquarie in 1815. The peculiar geology of this
location partly accounts for the formation of the Bathurst Plains and the open landscape that was so appealing
to the early colonialists.
